Dear Evert and Marijke,

We send all our love and best wishes on this, your 40th Wedding Anniversary. You will also be happy to know that it will be all downhill from here. You can simply coast your way to 50 years and beyond. By now you know each others foibles and idiosyncrosies and you know when it is safe to make a suggestion and when to shut up!

We think of you often and look back on our years together as St. Andrews with great warmth. You both were good friends to us. We are very grateful.
